Minority college students, with the exception of Asian Americans, are much less probably than white college students to take AP examinations (see Table 6-6). While the proportion of Hispanic take a look at takers increased after 1997, only 9 percent of AP take a look at takers in 2002 were Hispanic, half of whom were Mexican American (see Table 6-6).
